Michael Gurgen

Michael Gurgen is a Board Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) who has been personally trained in the field of Dermatology and Skin Care by Dr. Johnny Gurgen. Michael practices in the same philosophy and patient care approach as Dr. Gurgen provides to his patients.

Michael received his first Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from William Paterson University in New Jersey. After completing his first degree, he went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing graduating with top honors in his class, Magna Cum Laude. He then went on to complete his training at South University where he received his Master of Science degree in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, graduating again with top honors.

Michael is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and was inducted into The Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International due to his academic success and integrity.

Michael is very compassionate and dedicated to provide the best care for his patients. In his spare time he likes to travel, participate in various outdoor activities, and spend time with those closest to him.

John E. Kelly is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who has been trained in the field of Dermatology and Skin Care by Dr. Johnny Gurgen. He practices in the same philosophy and patient care approach as Dr. Gurgen provides to his patients.

John is a life-long resident of Citrus County where he attended Citrus High School. After graduation, he attended the College of Central Florida where he earned his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. He worked in the EMS field for 10 years. From there, he continued his education at the University of Florida where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors.

After earning his Bachelor’s Degree, John became a high school Chemistry teacher and taught for 12 years. During his teaching career at Crystal River High School, he also coached football and enjoyed serving as the team’s medic.

John’s passion and desire to become a Physician Assistant led him to continue his education at Nova Southeastern University in Orlando, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Medical Science – Physician Assistant.

John currently lives in Inverness with his lovely wife and their Labrador retriever. He enjoys spending time his family and friends. John’s favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing and football. He and his wife have been Gator Boosters since 2002 and enjoy attending the Gator Football games every Fall.

Jeren Kowalewski is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who has been trained in the field of Dermatology and Skin Care by Dr. Johnny Gurgen. He practices in the same philosophy and patient care approach as Dr. Gurgen provides to his patients.

Jeren was born and raised in Bradenton Florida where he attended Lakewood Ranch High School. After graduation, he attended Florida State University. Jeren was a student athlete at FSU where he played wide receiver for the 2013 national championship football team while earning his Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Sciences.

After graduating from Florida State University and finishing his football career, Jeren found a passion in the field of Dermatology. Jeren began his medical career as a medical assistant at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee.

Jeren’s passion and desire to continue his medical journey led him to continue his education at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Myers, Florida where he earned his Master’s Degree in Medical Science – Physician Assistant with honors. Jeren is a current member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Jeren currently lives in Winter Garden with his incredible wife and their golden retriever. Jeren’s favorite hobbies include spending time with family, golfing with friends, and attending Florida State and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games where he and his wife are season ticket holders.

Leonard “Jack” Stewart is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who has been personally trained in the field of Dermatology and Skin Care by Dr. Johnny Gurgen. Jack practices the same philosophy and patient care approach as Dr. Gurgen provides to his patients.

Jack earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He also obtained E.M.T. certification and was able to gain valuable patient care experience as a first responder for over two years.

Jack then pursued his Master’s Degree at South University’s Physician Assistant Program in Tampa, FL, where he graduated at the top of his class with high honors. He has since worked as a physician assistant at an urgent care clinic in the Tampa Bay area prior to switching his specialty to Dermatology. In his free time, Jack enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time with his family, friends, and dog.

Annual skin checks are a necessity here in Central Florida. And, we know that many women would prefer to see a woman for this type of exam. Both Leesburg and Lady Lake Dermatology & Mohs Surgery is very happy to have Stephany Leclair, APRN join our practice.

Stephany Leclair is a Certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who has been trained in the field of Dermatology and Skin Care by Dr. Johnny Gurgen. She practices the same philosophy and patient care approach that Dr. Gurgen provides to his patients.

Stephany earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from King University in Bristol, TN. She has several years of nursing experience in dermatology, oncology, and hospice. After several years of working as a dermatology nurse, Stephany pursued a Master of Science in Nursing from The George Washington University, graduating top of her class.

Stephany is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners.

Stephany is committed to providing the highest quality patient-centered care while fostering strong relationships with her patients. She enjoys spending time with her family and fur-babies. Her favorite pastimes are lounging poolside, boating, fishing, snow skiing (because snowboarding is not her forte) and she’s a big movie buff.
